História de Graça | EXD Lisbon 2009
As part of Experimenta 09, a group of young
designers from Portugal and the UK came
together with a social mission.
Using their skills as designers and innovators,
they wanted to find ways to promote the
emotional wellbeing of older people and uncover
ways that could support their greater
integration into the local community.
This ambitious group brought their energy and
enthusiasm to Graça, where they have spoken
to many of Graça’s elders, looking at ways to
bring them centre stage in the life of the
neighbourhood.
The project that has emerged gives them
a voice – literally! Through recording their
stories, re ections, thoughts and memories,
this project recognises and celebrates the place
of older people in society, which we hope they
will continue to share across the community.
